Ryan & Yasmine’s Rustic Chic August Wedding at Country Side Barn Near Lethbridge, Alberta
Some wedding days feel less like an event and more like one giant, unforgettable party with your favourite people — and Ryan and Yasmine’s August wedding at Country Side Barn near Lethbridge, Alberta was exactly that.
These two travelled all the way from Fort St. John, British Columbia, to celebrate their wedding at one of Southern Alberta’s most sought-after rustic wedding venues. Their intimate guest list brought together friends and family who travelled from all over Canada to be there, making the day feel incredibly personal and meaningful.
And honestly? They knew how to throw a party. It was an incredible celebration from the getting ready moments until the last dance. With 12 hours of continuous coverage and a wedding video highlight- Yas and Ryan got over a thousand images and a sentimental video to watch forever, highlighting every detail of the day.

A Rustic Chic Barn Wedding Near Lethbridge
Country Side Barn is one of those venues that makes perfect sense for couples looking for a rustic chic wedding venue near Lethbridge.
With its beautiful countryside setting, charming barn atmosphere and relaxed Alberta feel, it creates the perfect backdrop for a wedding that feels elevated without losing that warm, laid-back country charm.
Ryan and Yasmine embraced that feeling perfectly. Their wedding was intimate, personal and centred around the people who mattered most — with plenty of incredible food, drinks, dancing and time spent together.
And speaking of food...
The Most Incredible Wedding Cocktail Hour
I don't think I've ever seen wedding guests get quite as excited about cocktail hour as they did at this one.
Ryan and Yasmine hired LA Chefs to cater their wedding, and they absolutely went all out.
Cocktail hour featured lobster rolls, prawns, meatballs, beautiful meat and cheese trays and dumplings.
Yes — lobster rolls at a barn wedding in Southern Alberta.
It was incredible and the guests devoured plate after plate of these fancy bites.
And somehow, that was just the beginning.
Dinner was a full buffet featuring whipped potatoes, baby potatoes, roast beef carved to order, fresh salads, butter carrots, pasta and more.
It was one of those meals where everyone kept going back for “just a little more” — and somehow ended up with another completely full plate.
Needless to say, nobody left hungry.
When the Wedding Timeline Goes Out the Window
One of my favourite things about Ryan and Yasmine’s wedding day was how willing they were to simply enjoy their wedding instead of feeling tied to a perfect timeline.
Because it was HOT.
We're talking around 32°C hot.
Ryan and Yasmine had originally planned a full couple portrait session and a larger amount of bridal party portraits, but as the heat climbed, they made a decision that I absolutely loved.
We shortened the bridal party portraits significantly and skipped their scheduled couple portrait session so they could spend more time with their guests and get out of the heat.
And honestly?
Good for them.
Your wedding day isn't a photoshoot.
The photos are important, absolutely — but the actual experience of your wedding day matters more.
Sometimes that means taking the pressure off, changing the timeline and choosing to sit inside with a cold drink surrounded by the people you love instead of sweating through another 45 minutes of portraits.
Those decisions are what make a wedding day feel like your wedding day.
A Giant Dance Party to End the Night
Once dinner was finished, the party was ON.
The evening turned into a huge dance party with their closest friends and family filling the barn, followed by a late-night perogy bar and desserts.
It was loud, sweaty, chaotic and SO much fun.
Exactly how a great wedding reception should be.
There were drinks, dancing, laughter and the kind of energy that makes you wish the reception could keep going for another five hours.
Ryan and Yasmine weren't interested in putting on a perfectly curated wedding just for the sake of having perfect photos.
They wanted to celebrate.
They wanted their people together.
They wanted amazing food.
They wanted to dance.
And they absolutely did.
