Xiomara & Brandon's Romantic Winter Wedding at Norland Historic Estate in Lethbridge, Alberta

Winter weddings in Alberta often come with one major question: How cold is it going to be?

For Xiomara and Brandon's wedding day at Norland Historic Estate in Lethbridge, the forecast had been calling for temperatures near -20°C. As their wedding day approached, everyone prepared for the possibility of staying indoors for most of the portraits.

Instead, they received the best wedding gift they could have asked for.

The temperature climbed to a surprising 2°C, creating perfect conditions for exploring the grounds and capturing portraits throughout one of Southern Alberta's most beautiful wedding venues.

From the moment Xiomara and Brandon first visited Norland Historic Estate, they knew it was the place where they wanted to begin their marriage. The historic character of the estate, the elegant interiors, and the beautifully maintained grounds offered everything they envisioned for an intimate celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Their wedding day felt warm and inviting from start to finish. Family and friends gathered inside the estate house as excitement filled every room. Despite the winter season, the atmosphere was filled with energy, anticipation, and the unmistakable feeling that something special was about to happen.

One of the greatest advantages of hosting a wedding at Norland Historic Estate is the variety of portrait locations available without ever leaving the property. Thanks to the unexpectedly mild weather, we were able to fully take advantage of both the indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day.

Inside the grand estate house, Xiomara and Brandon shared quiet moments together surrounded by timeless architecture and elegant details. The sitting room provided a cozy and romantic setting that perfectly complemented the intimacy of their winter wedding.

Outside, we explored several of the estate's most iconic locations. The upper patio and deck offered beautiful views of the property, while the lawn provided a soft winter backdrop that felt peaceful and serene. We also spent time at the front of the estate, capturing classic portraits that highlighted the beauty and grandeur of the historic home. The entire property seemed to glow in the soft winter light, creating the perfect setting for photographs that feel both timeless and romantic.

What stood out most throughout the day was the connection between Xiomara and Brandon. Young, deeply in love, and excited for everything the future holds, they approached every part of the wedding day with genuine joy. Whether they were sharing a quiet glance during portraits or laughing with friends and family throughout the evening, their excitement was impossible to miss.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a delicious buffet dinner catered by LA Chefs. The warm meal, heartfelt conversations, and relaxed atmosphere made the reception feel less like a formal event and more like a meaningful gathering of the people who matter most.

As the evening unfolded, family and friends celebrated the newlyweds with stories, laughter, and plenty of love. Every room in the estate felt filled with warmth—a fitting reflection of the life Xiomara and Brandon are beginning together.

Their wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best wedding days aren't defined by extravagant details or perfect plans. They're defined by connection, by the people who show up to support you, and by the excitement of starting a new chapter with your best friend. For Xiomara and Brandon, that chapter began on an unexpectedly beautiful winter day at Norland Historic Estate, surrounded by love, laughter, and the people who mean the most to them.

Congratulations, Xiomara and Brandon. May this next season of life be every bit as joyful and beautiful as the day you said "I do."

xx Allie
