Heidy and Jonathan's Simple Spring Wedding At The Norland in Lethbridge, alberta

Spring has sprung in beautiful Lethbridge, Alberta and make no mistake - The Norland is looking as stunning as ever. Green grass covers the spacious front lawn, and the trees leaves are slowly emerging from their winter slumber. Last week, I photographed this beautiful couple (Jonathan & Heidy) from Calgary, who fell in love with The Norland at first sight. Their wedding day was full of emotional moments, joyful worship music and a host of heartful speeches from their closest friends and family.
rain was in the forecast
So, many prayers where made in the days leading up to this beautiful event. Last minute, the sun peeked it's face out which allowed the team at Lethbridge Event Rentals to work their magic on the front lawn, and assemble their 80 person outdoor ceremony seating. One of the best features of the Norland, is the promise of a beautiful ceremony, whether the sun is shining or not - with their stunning ballroom as a backup, couples can rest easy that their ceremony will be perfect, whether it is indoor or out.
wedding photo highlights
As mentioned in previous posts, The Norland is one of my favourite Lethbridge wedding venues to shoot at. The photo ops are endless because this estate is as charming, luxurious and romantic as it can get. The Norland has several key areas for getting ready, and romantic bridal portraits which I will highlight in this blog. Take a peek below for tips on the perfect areas to have photographs taken during your Norland Historic Estate wedding day!
romantic portraits
The long driveway leading up to The Norland is a great spot to unwind right after your ceremony - laughing, embracing one another and taking it all in! I love to do a few natural portraits here while the couple soaks in their new titles and experience their first few moments as husband and wife!
the bridal suites
Each room in The Norland's upstairs corridor is brimming with soft light, antique finishings and romantic vibes.
The Living Room
The best spot in the house for the groom and his men to prepare for their trip down the aisle.
The Porch balcony
This charming porch wraps around the front of the house and has both covered and uncovered areas that make for beautiful bridesmaid party images.
the gazebo
This spring day brought dark clouds with it, however, the lighting at the gazebo area of the ceremony location is always perfect - clouds or not!
Year round romance
